MINNEAPOLIS, MN February 19, 2009 Amcom Software, the industry leader in mission-critical communications, today announced the availability of the next generation of its Commtech Messenger wireless messaging system. This enhanced version improves users' ability to connect virtually all crucial alert systems, including nurse call, fire, security, and building management, to mobile staff via their wireless communication devices, including SpectraLink phones, Vocera badges, and pagers. This speed of information sharing enables more than 2,500 organizations worldwide to improve response time and safety for those in their facilities. In particular, many leading healthcare organizations save lives and improve patient care every day with the system's ability to deliver critical updates to nurses, doctors, and other staff members faster than ever before.
Highlights in the Latest Version:
- Certified interface with Vocera devices: This interface delivers critical alarm information from healthcare monitoring systems to Vocera badges, enabling quicker, more effective responses from an inherently mobile workforce.
- TAP Gateway supports telephony call-back for nurse call integration: This new functionality gives customers a user-friendly interface for configuring parameters within virtually any nurse call system. This includes easy configuration of the SpectraLink or Cisco call-back functionality so wireless phones can connect to bedside pillow speakers for quicker patient response.
- Connection to the Alcatel IP Gateway: Customers with Alcatel equipment are now able to establish a direct connection between Alcatel wireless phones and nurse call, patient monitoring and other clinical engineering systems.
- Ability to view messages dispatched by other users: Greater visibility to communications helps keep staff abreast of notices that can improve the way they carry out their own responsibilities.
- Integration with Amcom products: Commtech Wireless systems now integrate with other Amcom products to provide database synchronization. This ensures that changes made to the Amcom system database are updated in the Commtech Wireless text messaging system database.
