Bethany Christian Care Improves Resident Safety and Care with Amcom Software's Communications Solution

Perth, Western Australia June 7, 2011 Amcom Software, Inc. today announced that Queensland-based aged care provider Bethany Christian Care has improved their responsiveness to resident calls for assistance by using Amcom Software's Commtech Fusion middleware. The solution works with Bethany Christian Care's nurse call system to escalate requests for resident assistance directly to staff on their Cisco Wi-Fi phones. This enables Bethany Christian Care staff to tend to residents' needs more quickly, complying with both industry regulations and its own mission for quick response times.
Bethany relies on the Fusion solution at The Plains Retirement Village. This is their most technically advanced and largest complex, serving the needs of more than 100 residents. All residents have a nurse call button in their rooms. When they need assistance, they push the nurse call button, and the Fusion system sends a message that includes the resident's exact location to the right caregiver's phone. The results are faster response times and improved resident care and satisfaction.
To ensure Bethany Christian Care is continually meeting the right benchmarks, management uses the data collected by the Fusion system to conduct regular audits on staff response times. "In the aged care industry there are strict regulations and standards we are required to meet," said Michael Harding, Operations Manager, Bethany Christian Care.
