New Version of Alarm Management Middleware released
- Solution meets global demand for integrating alert systems with a wide variety of wireless and wired communication devices to speed response
- Key features include enhanced connectivity with SpectraLink, KIRK, and other key systems, increasing the range of options available for fast, simple integration
MINNEAPOLIS, MN July 21, 2009 Amcom Software, today announced that it has released version 2.2 of the Central Control Module of its Fusion Series. This module is the hub of the Fusion Series and takes alarm and alert notifications from virtually any system, such as nurse call, fire, security, and building management, and sends them to almost any communication device. This translates to faster response and improved care and safety for hospital patients, hotel guests, senior care residents, and those in corporate and industrial environments. The updated functionality in this release enables Amcom to better meet global demand for end user device interoperability.
"The Fusion Series is very effective because it integrates such a wide variety of alert and alarm systems with the devices carried by highly mobile staff," said Nathan Buzza, EVP and GM, Commtech Wireless, a Division of Amcom Software. "The new version of the Fusion Series Central Control Module will help customers across various industries achieve greater communication efficiencies during their work day."
Alarm Management Middleware - Highlights of the Latest Release:
- Enhanced KIRK and SpectraLink device integration: With this release Amcom has expanded on the existing robust features for KIRK and SpectraLink device integration. Users can now get direct confirmation that messages have been received as well as the call-back details. This enables staff to take the appropriate action quickly or prioritize their response given other activities if necessary. Additionally, staff duress situations can be responded to more quickly now with handset number identification that helps others quickly determine exactly who triggered the alarm message.
- Support for Swedish Characters: As Amcom continues to generate momentum in Europe, additional language support and expanded product offerings are critical. Swedish customers can now leverage the Fusion Series in their native language to ensure situations requiring attention can be easily understood by the staff.
- Implemented wireless communication transfer protocol (WCTP): Users on wired networks can now send messages to and receive messages from wireless networks with this expansion in wireless interfaces.
- Expanded support for digital signs: Key messages can be sent to digital signs to allow multiple people to see alerts as they carry out their work. Short-lived but time-sensitive messages (i.e., a door left open or a fire alarm going off) can be programmed to override general information on the sign.
- TAP Gateway supports telephony call-back for nurse call integration: This new functionality gives customers a user-friendly interface for configuring parameters within virtually any nurse call system. This includes easy configuration of the SpectraLink or Cisco call-back functionality so wireless phones can connect to bedside pillow speakers for quicker patient response.
