Commtech Wireless Fusion Series

Wireless Messaging made Easier

"We now have a centrally managed, unified system that is flexible and able to be integrated with emerging healthcare and IT technologies, and one that gives us local, round-the-clock technical support. This ensures our system runs flawlessly, messages keep flowing, and safety
for residents, staff, and visitors remains high."

Daniel Cruse, Manager of
Information Technology,

The Commtech Wireless division of Amcom Software is proud to bring you the Fusion™ messaging platform. Fusion is an intelligent middleware application that connects critical information from third-party systems to mobile staff using wireless communication devices. The Fusion series consists of seven independent modules, which can be combined as required to create an extremely powerful mobile event notification solution for organisations with small to medium sized messaging requirements.

Fusion gives organisations the ability to send messages to the right people based on pre-defined rules suited to the needs of their facility. This includes the capability to configure escalated communication paths whenever necessary. It also means you can manage devices easily and allocate staff appropriately to further maximise efficiencies within your working environment. Ultimately, the ability to reach mobile team members within seconds improves overall workflow, staff productivity, and the comfort and safety of everyone in your facility.

Core Vertical Markets Where Fusion is in Use Today:

Fusion Key Benefits

The Fusion series is both cost-effective and cutting edge. This innovative solution has been designed to provide core functionality required for the wider market, but without the additional expense associated with implementation of an enterprise-grade application.

"We have noticed that the added value available with the Amcom Software systems has led to greater staff efficiency and better customer service."

Kyle Stubbs, Telecommunications Manager

Fusion Alarm Dispatch Module (ADM)

Fusion Alarm Dispatch Module

Available in a 19” rack-mount design, the Alarm Dispatch Module (ADM) provides 16 alarm inputs capable of taking low-level data (opto-coupled or closed-contact) from various sources, including building management systems, security and fire alarms. Connecting multiple ADMs via RS485 lets you expand the total number of low-level number inputs being fed into your system.

The ADM can operate in a standalone mode; however, it is also fully backward compatible with the Fusion Event Management Module (EMM) and also Amcom (Commtech) Messenger™. The ADM can be configured to operate with either solution if further functionality is required. In standalone mode, the ADM can connect directly to other modules from the Fusion product range, such as the INTELPage and INTELPage IP POCSAG paging transmitters. This allows low-level alarm notifications to be sent automatically to recipients' paging devices via a serially or IP-connected paging transmitter.

Fusion Event Management Module (EMM)

Fusion Event Management Module

Note: This was formerly known as the Central Control Module (CCM)

The Event Management Module (EMM) is the ‘hub’ of the innovative Fusion Series. Supporting multiple input and output protocols for connectivity to third-party systems, the EMM takes information from virtually any system, processes it based on pre-defined business rules, and ensures that these notifications are sent to the right person(s), on the right device(s) quickly.

Fusion Event Management Module Rack Mount

The Fusion EMM is available in a choice of a 19” rack-mount or stackable plastic enclosure. Multiple third-party systems can be connected as inputs or outputs into the EMM simultaneously via an IP or serial connection. The unit can also physically connect to a POCSAG paging transmitter, such as the Fusion INTELPage unit. The EMM can connect to a wide-area carrier via an in-built modem as well. Aside from automatically generated messages being processed via the system, users can send manual messages via an intuitive Web client or alternatively through connectivity to a Fusion Telephone Interface Module (TIM) unit. This allows a user to send messages from any telephone connected to their PBX, easily directed by customised voice prompts.

Fusion Telephone Interface Module (TIM)

Fusion Telephone Interface Module Rack Mount

Available in a 19” rack-mount design, the Telephone Interface Module (TIM) provides voice-prompted messaging from essentially any telephone. Connected to any standard telephone PBX extension, the TIM greets its users with a series of natural voice prompts, inviting the caller to provide the necessary information to be sent to Amcom Messenger or other Fusion Series modules (Fusion EMM, INTELPage IP) through the telephone keypad. This configuration then allows the user to easily send pre-defined or canned messages directly to mobile phones, pagers, wireless telephones, PDAs, email and other receiving devices.

Fusion Telemetry Relay Module (TRM)

Fusion Telemetry Relay Module

Available in a stackable plastic enclosure, the Telemetry Relay Module (TRM) is a multi-purpose paging receiver capable of outputting messages via its serial port as well as controlling almost any device via its eight built-in relays. It can be used for remote control or telemetry purposes. The unit uses an advanced receiver board that allows it to work in the frequency bands 135MHz-175MHz, 278-286MHz, 448-468MHz, and 929Mhz-932Mhz synthesized. The notable advantage to such an application is that there is no limit to the number of TRM units that can be added to the system. It also means expensive cable runs are not needed as everything is enabled over the air.

Fusion Cellular Messaging Module (CMM)

Fusion Cellular Messaging Module Rack

Available in a 19” rack-mount design, the Cellular Messaging Module (CMM) in now available in a 3G\UMTS version. The CMM acts as an in-house transmitter for messaging to and from mobile phones. This ensures that notifications of critical events can still be received by mobile staff when not on site. This transmitter is fully compatible for operation with the Fusion EMM and Amcom Messenger.

Fusion INTELPage (POCSAG Paging Transmitters)

Fusion INTELPage Rack Mount

Available in a 19” rack-mount design or stackable plastic enclosure (5-Watt only), the INTELPage is a state-of-the-art, non return to zero (NRZ), POCSAG paging transmitter built to meet the specific needs of the modern paging industry. The INTELPage is available in 5W, 25W, 50W and even 100W options. This is for serial (RS-232) connectivity to the Fusion EMM and Amcom Messenger solutions. INTELPage can also connect directly to a capable third-party system requiring a POCSAG transmitter. This transmitter is available in all standard UHF and VHF frequencies.
