Key among the new initiatives is the appointment of a new sales executive, rigorous product testing and certification and new alliance agreements. The growth plans are due in part to increased demand for sophisticated mission-critical communication systems including emergency notification solutions.
The company currently is listed on the GSA schedule, has completed JITC product certification and has relationships with key federal agencies including over 30 U.S. Army bases, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Marines and several classified federal agencies.

Amcom also announced that Scott Opitz has joined the company as its director of federal sales. Opitz is a seasoned technology sales executive with a depth of experience in managing federal government relationships, including the Department of State, the Missile Defense Agency, FEMA, the U.S. Army Department of Energy, and the Department of Health and Human Services. He joins Amcom from Shavlik Technologies, where he spent five years as the company's federal sales manager. Previously, Opitz served in various sales and business development roles with MediaOne, AT&T and Comcast. Scott Opitz is a decorated combat veteran of the United States Marines Corps.

Amcom Software has completed rigorous federal government testing and certification processes and is both JITC (Joint Interoperability Test Command) and IA (Information Assurance) certified. JITC/IA tests national security and IT systems including hardware, software and components with services that include: developmental, conformance, interoperability, operational and validation testing. JITC serves the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), combatant commands, the Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal agencies, allies, coalition partners and commercial vendors. Amcom's entire suite of software applications have been certified by JITC/IA.
Amcom also announced it is nearing completion of negotiations with several key federal partners that will further enhance its market presence and service offering in the federal government sector. The company is on the GSA schedule and is actively engaged with many federal and DoD customers to develop tailored service offerings. Recently, the company's emergency communications system, e.Notify was selected as part of the Red Cell project, a high-profile homeland security demonstration led by American Systems.
