MINNEAPOLIS, MN - November 16, 2007 - Amcom Software, the leader in mission-critical communications software, and Xtend Communications, a long-time provider and innovator in telecommunications, announced today that they have reached an agreement to combine the two companies. Together, Amcom and Xtend will leverage a distinct market leadership position with vertical market breadth, expanded product lines and a combined employee base.

"The combination of Amcom and Xtend creates a powerful entity for customers. We will now provide the broadest suite of mission critical communications solutions for organizations in healthcare, government, education, hospitality, public safety and corporate markets. As a combined company we will continue to lead the market in communication technology innovation, vertical knowledge, and customer service," said Chris Heim, Amcom Software CEO.

The company will offer an expanded product suite to a broader market while focusing on serving the needs of all current customers. Going forward, Amcom will support and enhance both companies' product lines.

"Together, we have the essential resources necessary to extend our existing products and services to a wider audience while expanding our business," added Dan Mayleben, Amcom Software CFO. "We will maximize our collective resources, technologies and expertise to introduce innovations to the market and make aggressive advancements in enterprise-wide communications."

"Over the years our users have determined the path of our technology development," said Bill Schwartz, Founder and CEO of Xtend Communications. "This is an attribute that Amcom recognized and admired in Xtend during two decades of market competition. The merging of our forces will essentially give both product development teams a wider audience from which to draw the challenges, ideas and direction for the next generation of our business."

The new organization will present many advantages to its customers including bolstered financial strength. As a profitable business with a strong balance sheet, the company clearly demonstrates long-term viability and customer commitment. The combined company will serve 14 out of the top 18 hospitals in the United States, as ranked by U.S. World and News Report magazine.

"This is an ideal next step for our mutual customers, employees and the market overall," added Heim. "Over 60 years of combined experience is unheard of in this business. Now, we are well positioned to set the pace as the clear market leader."

The combined company will operate under the corporate name of Amcom Software and will maintain the complete Xtend product suite.  While Minneapolis will become the headquarters for the combined organization, the former Xtend Communications headquarters in New York will retain a sizeable staff devoted to support, development, implementation and sales.  The technical support and services teams will continue to grow and develop in both locations to best serve the companies' mutual customers.
